becomes easy to track.    at this point, it seems like the flame from the boosters has extended. what is actually going on is the shuttle has entered full sunlight. you can see the colors of sunrise reflected in the trail of white exhaust.     the next pictures show the shuttle after separating from the solid rocket boosters. this occurs 2 minutes into flight. if you look closely in some of these pictures, you can see the boosters falling to the ocean. the brightest white dot is the shuttle, continuing on to orbit. |
